Couture, Bespoke, Heirloom Quality
Created by Italian American Enzo Iron Cinquegrana, the husband of Burlesque sensation Raquel Reed, Caged Showgirl aims to use the two decades of high-end fabrication and sculptural craft to create amazing custom and Ready-to-Wear costume headpieces and props for performers, models, venues, and events.
The difference is classical education in both Italy and France, ground zero experience to performer’s needs, and a pure need to create. Caged Showgirl headpieces are typically welded from thick gauge steel wire, making them durable and adjustable to each performer. It also allows performers to perform uninhibited and if warping occurs due to a performance, pieces can be easily bend back into shape, no cracking or breaking.
Wrapping always uses high quality fold over stretch trim, glued to the frame to prevent peeling, warping, or shifting of the wrap. Each piece is made to order, even the Ready-to-Wear pieces, and so each piece has its own dedicated time when being created.
It all started at a floor show in Newark…
In that journey he discovered and developed his skill and passion for costume, incorporating his mastery of metalwork into his new-found knowledge of performance. With his wife as both a guiding star and litmus test to his work, he created Caged Showgirl.
It was there that artist Enzo Cinquegrana met performer Raquel Reed, and he honed his passion and skill towards assisting her legacy while building his own.
I want to do my best to add my skills and talents to an industry that has given so much to us, with authenticity and grace.
I want to give performers another source for high-end, couture, and custom pieces to aid in getting their art onto more stages. My work is art, and what better an object to grace a fellow artist?
