How long will it take to get to me?

Turnaround time for all Ready to Wear pieces is typically 2-3 weeks. This is due to some wrapping and most feathers needing to be ordered by me, and this time-frame gives my vendors and myself some time to get everything both delivered and made.

Fully custom pieces have a typical turnaround of 2-3 weeks as well, however this can be much longer depending on the elements, materials, and complexity of the design.1

How do I know the piece will fit?

All Caged Showgirl headpieces are made up of MIG welded steel. they can be bent and manipulated to fit almost any head. they are made to be worn but also thrown to stage just like any other costume piece on the body, so don’t fear giving the frame a little tweak to fit your head perfectly.

Obviously this comes with a warning, bending too much may warp your frame and be very hard to get back, so please adjust your headpiece frames little by little until the desired fit.

If there are specific fitting questions (complex wigs, dreads, no hair at all etc.) just reach out in our contact page to let me know your concerns before ordering. I can add hair combs to any piece for no extra fee in order to stabilize any headpiece for pinning. As well as my hair-free performers if you need a little extra support to keep a headpiece on I can add some custom elements at little or no extra charge.

How do I care for my headpiece over time?

These headpieces are cared for just like any couture costume piece, use vodka or denatured alcohol in a spray bottle to sanitize and keep clean. Feel free to steam feathers to maintain shape and fluffiness, however do not steam the frames as this may break down the glue that holds the wrapping so nice and tight.

What if I want something slightly different than a current headpiece for sale?

Reach out to me in my contact page. Custom doesn’t have to mean unattainable in a decent budget. If there is a headpiece you like but want slightly different, just reach out and let me know. If changes aren’t vastly different then I can stick to stock prices to get you a solid piece made just for you!

Your custom prices are most likely outside my budget…?

Sometimes that may be true, but I do my best to keep my prices fair and reasonable. I also allow for two part payment for any piece under $400. Anything that may exceed $400 I am more than willing to work with a payment plan that works with your budget. Can’t know unless you ask!

Returns?

As these are made to order, at this time I cannot take returns with the exception two obvious issues: damage during shipping or product failures. No one is perfect, and sometimes a bad weld may slip through, or a package can go through the ringer on delivery. If that happens you have my personal promise and professional guarantee you will receive a brand new piece free of charge, all you need to do is ship back the original piece, I’ll either repair or completely re-make your piece and ship it back out asap. This hasn’t happened yet, but I want to make sure you can buy with confidence!

If you change your mind on a color, or style I have no problem exchanging your piece for another, all you need to do is cover shipping costs and pay the difference in price if any.
